rumPUREE World Dance Studio
About the studio
rumPUREE World Dance Studio is the first dedicated world dance studio in Thailand, founded in 2006 by salsa pioneer Apple (Busakorn) after she trained with leading instructors in New York. The studio operates two Bangkok branches, one at Jasmine City on Sukhumvit 23 next to BTS Asok and another inside Samyan Mitrtown, and teaches a broad mix of dance forms with a strong New York Salsa On2 and Bachata program. Salsa and bachata classes run almost every day across both branches, ranging from absolute-beginner full-course cycles to intermediate and advanced levels with experienced instructors such as Apple, Makiko, Nami, Hannes and Ara. The studio also hosts a weekly Bachata Practica every Thursday from 21:00 to 23:00 at the Asok branch, plus regular in-house Salsa Bangkok parties. rumPUREE founded and organizes the annual Salsabangkok Fiesta festival, which has been a cornerstone of Thailand's Latin dance scene for over a decade. Beyond Latin styles the studio teaches ballet, contemporary, hip hop, pole dance, bellydance, K-pop, Zumba and Argentine Tango, and includes children's classes at the Samyan location. Beginners are welcomed through structured 6-week and 12-week full-course cycles as well as drop-in open classes, and partners are not required.
Founded in 2006 by Apple (Busakorn), a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumna who became a New York-trained salsa instructor. The name 'rumPUREE' combines 'Rum' (Thai for 'dance') and 'Puree' (Sanskrit for 'city'), translating to 'City of Dances'. Apple is credited with introducing several dance styles to Thailand including Bellydance, Afro-Caribbean, Zouk, Samba de Gafieira, Swing, Striptease and Pole Dance, and founded Raks rumPUREE, Thailand's first professional bellydance troupe. The studio organizes Salsabangkok Fiesta and the Dance the World in One Day (DWOD) showcase.
