Danca & Companhia

Danca & Companhia is a long-running Lisbon social-dance school founded in 2005 (originally as Salsa & Companhia) and dedicated to teaching salsa, bachata and kizomba in a friendly, community-oriented setting. The school operates at three Lisbon studios in the Arroios and Aeroporto neighbourhoods, including weekly classes at the Clube Atletico de Arroios. Group classes run Monday to Thursday evenings between 19:30 and 22:00, with a five-level salsa progression, two-level bachata progression and three-level kizomba progression that also covers semba, tarraxinha and urban kiz. Once a month the school hosts a free 'Convivio Dancante' social night on Fridays at Clube Atletico de Arroios, combining a class with open social dancing. Pricing is straightforward: 29 EUR per month for one weekly class, 44 EUR for two, or 59 EUR for an unlimited 'Livre Transito' pass covering all styles. Trial classes are 8 EUR and are credited toward the first month if the student enrols. The teaching team is led by Tania Capao alongside Fabian Morera, Catarina Martins, Edu & Brave and Sergio & Monica, and classes are taught in Portuguese with English translation when needed. The school regularly takes part in major Portuguese latin festivals such as Setubailas, Porto Salsa Mob and Lisbon Salsa Congress.

Founded in 2005 as 'Salsa & Companhia', the school originally taught salsa and Latin rhythms across the wider Lisbon region including Almada, Moita, Montemor-o-Novo and Setubal, and ran workshops throughout Portugal. By 2007 it had expanded its style offering and was rebranded as Danca & Companhia, broadening its scope to social dances and stage arts. Today the school is centralized in Lisbon (Arroios and Aeroporto), reports more than 1,500 classes delivered, 5+ instructors, 15+ dance styles and 560+ satisfied students.
