About the studio

Rhythm & Vibes Dance Company (RV Dance, formerly Dsantos Dance UK) is one of London's premier Afro-Latin dance schools, teaching Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Semba to over 4,000 participants every year. Founded in 2015 by South African director and principal dancer Richard Voogt, the school runs a professional, progressive syllabus across four difficulty levels with 12 teachers and around 37 classes per month. Their flagship weekly night is Tropical Wednesdays at Luxe Bar in central London (29 Haymarket, SW1Y 4SP), combining 2 hours of multi-level Bachata, Kizomba and Salsa classes with a club-night party and free drink. They also run DRENA SBK Nights, a monthly Saturday mega-party in Brixton attended by 350+ dancers across two rooms (Kizomba + Salsa/Bachata) until 2:30am. RV Dance was recognised by Arts Council England in 2020 with a Cultural Recovery Fund grant for its contribution to UK culture, and has represented the UK at major dance and cultural events in Spain, Portugal, Ghana, Canada, France, Turkey, Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Serbia and Malta. The school welcomes absolute beginners (no partner required, ages 18+), offers private lessons including wedding-dance choreography, and runs a newcomer offer of 5 nights of classes and parties for 40 GBP. Note: at the time of scraping, the website displayed a banner stating that weekly classes are temporarily paused while a new venue is being secured, with updates posted to their WhatsApp channel.

Established in 2015 by Richard Voogt as Dsantos Dance UK, later rebranded to Rhythm & Vibes Dance Company. Awarded a Cultural Recovery Fund grant by Arts Council England in 2020 in recognition of its contribution to UK Afro-Latin culture. Has grown from a weekly class operation to a monthly 350+ capacity flagship party (DRENA SBK Nights) in Brixton, with a stated 2026/27 residency focused on the live African music diaspora and the PALOP (Angolan, Cape Verdean, Lusophone) community in London.
