Baila Conmigo Milano
About the studio
Baila Conmigo Milano is a historic Cuban-style Latin dance school founded in 2001 in the Villa San Giovanni neighbourhood of Milan, just 300 metres from the M1 (red line) metro station. Run by founder Paola Biraghi together with director-instructor Gianluca Recco, the school specialises in authentic Salsa Cubana (Casino), Rueda de Casino, Cuban bachata, rumba, son cubano and Afro-Cuban gestualidad, taught largely by Cuban-trained instructors. Group courses run Monday through Thursday evenings between roughly 19:00 and 23:00, with Salsa Base levels 1, 2 and 3, Salsa Intermedio, Salsa Avanzato, a beginners Salsa+Bachata combo, Rueda, performance work ('Baila on Stage') and live rumba/son cubano. New students are invited to a free trial class, and partners are not required since the school continuously rotates leads and follows. The 130 m2 air-conditioned studio is also rented out by the hour for external workshops and training. The school is openly beginner-friendly, family-style and Cuba-focused rather than running large social parties or festivals on-site itself.
Baila Conmigo Milano was founded by Paola Biraghi in 2001 and has been operating as Scuola Baila Conmigo Milano ASD (a sports/cultural association affiliated with ASI) at Via Fortezza 13 in Milan ever since. Over more than two decades it has grown into one of Milan's longest-running Cuban-style Latin dance schools, building a multi-generational community of casino dancers around director-instructor Gianluca Recco and a roster of Cuban-trained teachers (Yanedis Martinez since 2017, Thalia Dayami, Richard Mesa, Jhonny Perez, and most recently Grette Rodriguez and Dudley Bravo who joined in late 2025-early 2026). The school regularly hosts Cuban guest artists and workshops (e.g. Maykel Fonts, Lisandra Garcia 'A lo Cubano') and updates its weekly course planning each September.
