Jhonatan Dance Company (JDC)

Jhonatan Dance Company (JDC) is an international Latin dance academy located in the Gangnam district of Seoul, founded and led by Colombian professional dancer Jhonatan Jimenez. The studio specialises in Salsa LA Style On1, Sensual Bachata and Reggaeton (under Jhonatan's own Rumba Caliente brand), with regular Bachata Heels, shines and social-dance nights rounding out the weekly programme. Classes run from Monday to Thursday plus Saturday at the main Gangnam studio and on Mondays at a second G-Tower 17th-floor space in Songdo, Incheon, with levels from Basic to Advanced. All classes are taught in English (with Korean and Spanish support) and the community is genuinely international, drawing dancers from Korea, the USA, UK, France, Italy, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Morocco and Australia. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday classes finish with a free in-studio social, and the Saturday evening JDC Dinner & Social Dance is a flagship community gathering. Pricing is dancer-friendly, with 30,000 KRW drop-ins at Gangnam (40,000 KRW at Songdo) and monthly packages from 155,000 KRW. Beginners are explicitly welcome and partners are not required - rotation is the norm.

Jhonatan Dance Company was founded by Colombian dancer and choreographer Jhonatan Jimenez, who relocated to South Korea and built JDC into one of Seoul's most visible international Latin dance hubs. The school has grown its Meetup-organised Latin Dance group to roughly 800 members and 9.2K followers on Facebook, hosting hundreds of past events including the 2023 'Latin Fiesta Extravaganza' at The Bulldog Pub in Seoul. Jhonatan has expanded the JDC umbrella into the Rumba Caliente fitness/reggaeton brand and the Salsa & Bachata Caliente and Dancing With Your Soul programmes, and operates a second teaching location at G-Tower in Songdo (Incheon) in addition to the main Gangnam studio.
