Sala Templo has been working the ballroom end of Madrid dancing since 2004, and it splits its week into two different sessions. Caribe Dance is the Latin one: salsa, bachata, merengue, cha cha chá and kizomba. Europa Dance is the salón session, built for an older crowd, moving from Viennese waltz through pasodoble and sevillanas to rock and roll and hustle, with Caribbean tracks folded in.
Teachers and house dancers are on the floor at every session, there to keep the room moving and to partner people who turn up without anyone. Sessions come with a valet parking service, and there is a menu of raciones if you want to eat between dances. Salsa and bachata sit on the Tuesday slot.
