Danza Pasion

At Danza Pasion the social is an extension of the class: Tuesday's salsa social starts immediately after the beginners' class at 8:40pm, and there's a Wednesday ballroom social after classes from 8:30pm. It's a studio setting rather than a bar — expect a cleared practice floor, mirrors and rows of chairs where students linger to practise.

Music is DJ-led and focused on social salsa and bachata (merengue and kizomba appear in advanced classes). Enrolled students dance free; visitors pay $10. Singles are explicitly welcome and teachers encourage switching partners, so it's straightforward to join if you arrive alone. Classes run weekly — the studio advertises five-week beginners' courses and private lessons — so many people come for tuition and stay for the social.
