Cafe Citron is a Latin restaurant that flips into a nightclub: dinner and happy hour run from 19:00, the kitchen serves until about 23:00, and the main floor converts into a dance area from roughly 22:00. The lower level is used for the 9–10pm salsa lesson on Fridays and Saturdays, followed by a salsa social 10–11pm; Saturdays feature a “Drums of DC” percussion night. The bar sits in DuPont Circle, directly across from the Metro south exit.
If you want to dance, take the 9pm lesson, that’s the planned entry point before the floor opens. Expect a clear dinner-to-dance shift: tables and food service early, louder DJ/percussion and dancing late (hours run to 03:00 on Fridays and Saturdays). Private rooms and buyouts are a regular thing for groups, and bottle service is offered, so the room can feel more nightclub than neighbourhood bar after 22:00. Plan your arrival and transport accordingly.
