Toronto has bachata four nights a week, Tuesday to Friday, and two venues anchor it. Basalcha Tuesdays at Smokeshow BBQ and Brew is the one night built around bachata (CA$5 before 9 PM, CA$10 after). Toronto Dance Fridays at Dovercourt House gives bachata its own room for CA$15, lessons included. In between, Latin Wednesdays at Soluna is free before 10 PM.

The weekend belongs to other styles: live-band salsa at Lula Lounge, Sunday zouk at Dovercourt House and a monthly kizomba night at Urbanbeat Studios. Every night below comes from our Toronto listings and was checked again in October 2026. We list no regular social on Monday.

Smokeshow: Basalcha Bachata Tuesdays

Smokeshow BBQ and Brew at 744 Mount Pleasant Rd in midtown hosts Basalcha every Tuesday. A bachata lesson starts at 9 PM, then DJ Kash runs the social from about 9:45 PM to 1 AM, sometimes 2 AM. The music is mostly bachata, with salsa and kizomba mixed in.

Entry is CA$5 before 9 PM and CA$10 after. The room is a BBQ bar with a built-in stage and a long bar, about 15 minutes on foot from Eglinton station.

Soluna: Latin Wednesdays on Queen West

Soluna, a restaurant with a rooftop bar at 314 Queen St W, runs Latin Wednesdays every week. Entry is free before 10 PM and CA$10 after. The evening includes free beginner salsa and bachata lessons. One October 2026 listing put the class at 8 PM, but the venue's own page gives no lesson time.

Expect a restaurant crowd more than a dancers-only social: date nights, groups and bottle service. The venue publishes a dress code and an ID policy. Soluna is near Osgoode station, on the 501 Queen streetcar line.

El Rancho: Baila Mas Thursdays

Thursday is Baila Mas Thursdays at El Rancho, a Latin restaurant and bar at 430 College St, founded in 1979. A campana (cowbell rhythm) class starts at 8 PM and a Cali-style salsa class at 9 PM. The social starts at 10 PM, with DJs playing salsa and bachata until about 1 to 2 AM.

The guest list on Eventbrite advertises free entry for ladies and CA$10 for men before 10 PM. A January 2026 review says the free entry was not honoured on a busy night, so check the current post and arrive early. The 506 College streetcar stops outside.

Dovercourt House: Toronto Dance Fridays and Sunday Zouk

Toronto Dance Fridays at Dovercourt House, 805 Dovercourt Rd, uses three rooms: salsa, bachata and kizomba. Lessons run from 8 to 10 PM (intro salsa at 8 PM, bachata sensual and kizomba at 9 PM), and the social goes from 10 PM to 3 AM.

Cover is CA$15 at the door, lessons included. It is walk-in only, no advance tickets. The organizer says the crowd ranges from dancers in their 20s to their 80s. Some Fridays are special editions that replace the regular night. Ossington station on Line 2 is within walking distance.

On Sunday, the third floor of the same building hosts dZouk's Sunday Social, a Brazilian zouk night the organizer has run since 2011. A free beginner class runs from 6 to 7 PM, then social dancing from 7 to 10 PM for CA$15 plus HST. It is cashless, so register and pay online ahead. The social is occasionally skipped: if a ticket for that Sunday is on sale, it is on.

Lula Lounge: Live Salsa on Friday and Saturday

Lula Lounge at 1585 Dundas St W runs Latin Fridays and Salsa Saturdays, both 19 and over. Both nights follow one plan: doors for dance-only tickets at 8:30 PM, a beginner lesson at 9 PM and a live salsa band at 10 PM, with DJs between sets.

Dance tickets cost about CA$19 to 25 on Fridays, depending on the band, and start at CA$24.76 on Saturdays, online or at the door. The CA$79 dinner prix fixe (plus tax and tip) includes entry.

Lula is not a dancers-only social: diners, birthday groups and bachelorette parties share the room. On Fridays it turns into a non-salsa late party after the band, so the salsa window is roughly 9 PM to midnight. Saturday is salsa with a live band, not a bachata night. Take the 505 Dundas streetcar, or walk about 15 minutes from Dundas West station.

Urbanbeat Studios: Monthly Zouk and Kizomba

Urbanbeat Studios is an upper-floor studio at 235 Augusta Ave in Kensington Market. The entrance is a black door marked "Urbanbeat" on Baldwin St, next to Inky Dinky Tattoo.

Salao Zouk is a monthly zouk social, usually on the second Tuesday of the month: lesson from 7 to 8 PM, social from 8 to 11 PM. Dates shift, and the studio announces each edition on Instagram a few days ahead.

Urbanbeat Kiz Night is a monthly Urbankiz and kizomba night on a Saturday that changes each month. An Urbankiz lesson runs from 9 to 10 PM, then resident DJ Amano plays until 2 AM. Tickets are sold online, by e-transfer or in cash at the door. Check the Facebook event or Instagram for the next date, or see our kizomba and zouk pages for Toronto.
