About the studio
Extremos Salsa & Bachata is the leading Latin dance school in Amsterdam, with more than 25 years of experience teaching salsa and bachata across the Dutch capital. The school runs 80+ weekly classes spread over six locations - including De Kroon on Rembrandtplein, Clifford Studio, VROG and Meneer De Wit - making it the most prolific Latin dance programme in the city. Beginners progress through structured 6-week courses (Beginners 1, Beginners 2, Improvers 1, Improvers 2), while experienced dancers attend flexible drop-in classes through Intermediate 1/2 and Advanced 1, plus specialty offerings like Salsa Body Movement, Salsa ON2 and Bachata Ladies Styling. No partner is needed and the welcoming community of 1,000+ students makes it especially popular with newcomers. Extremos also organises the Amsterdam Salsa Festival and the recurring LATIN NIGHTS social at De Kroon every Wednesday and Sunday, alongside parties such as Latin Circus and AZUCAR! Memberships start at 55 EUR per month for one weekly class, scaling to 125 EUR per month for unlimited access, with single drop-ins at 18 EUR and 6-week beginner courses at 119 EUR. Classes are taught bilingually in English and Dutch by an international roster of more than 25 instructors led by founder Ivan and showteam director Eloy Rojas.
Extremos has been teaching salsa and bachata in Amsterdam for over 25 years, making it one of the pioneers of Latin dance in the Netherlands. The school has grown from a single studio into a multi-location operation across Amsterdam (De Kroon, Clifford Studio, VROG, Meneer De Wit, Orchid House) plus an outpost in Zwaag/Hoorn, and it organises the annual Amsterdam Salsa Festival. In January 2026 the school launched its dedicated SWITCH ON2 programme for cross-style salsa dancers, and in 2026 founded the Extremos Showteam under Eloy Rojas.
