Salsa4Fun
About the studio
Salsa4Fun is one of Amsterdam's longest-running Latin dance schools, founded in 2002 and based in Amsterdam Noord at Klaprozenweg 19a. Owners and lead instructors Jay and Marian offer one of the most complete curricula in the Netherlands, with 10 levels of salsa (covering both LA-style on1 and Cuban Casino), 6 levels of bachata (traditional and sensual) and 10 levels of Miami-style Rueda de Casino taught directly in the lineage of Rene Gueits (Salsa Lovers). Classes run seven days a week, with around 300 active students per 10-week course block and a strong international community of 40+ nationalities, taught in both Dutch and English. The venue is a full Latin club with a 200 m² wooden dance floor, professional sound, lounge, cocktail bar and free parking from 19:00. Every Friday from 21:00 until 00:15 the school hosts SalsaCafe, an open social night for students and the wider Amsterdam scene. Beginners are welcome with no partner required, since classes use a rotation system. Salsa4Fun also offers private lessons (solo or couple), wedding-dance choreographies, workshops and team-building sessions for groups from 2 up to 50+ people.
Founded in 2002, Salsa4Fun ran the famous Salsa Club Mystique in central Amsterdam for 21 years, hosting major Latin artists and growing into one of the epicentres of the Dutch Latin dance scene. The school later moved to its current Amsterdam Noord location at Klaprozenweg 19a, bringing along its long-standing teaching team, international network and community-club atmosphere.

"I am Spanish , was born in Venezuela and we grew up dancing salsa and merengue but this has helped truly understand how to “properly” dance. I also start learning Dutch so this is a great way for an expat to practice the language , and meet other Dutch while having a blast . I "
