Esquina Tango
About the studio
Esquina Tango is a non-profit cultural center and dance studio in East Austin, established in 2006, offering a wide variety of Latin dance classes including Salsa (Levels 1-3), Bachata (Beginner and Intermediate Traditional), Kizomba, Brazilian Zouk, Casino/Rueda, Cumbia, Samba, Reggaeton, and Argentine Tango. The studio also hosts regular socials and milongas, including weekly Salsa & Bachata socials, a Sunday Kizomba practica, a Thursday Tango practilonga, and pop-up Latin events at partner venues such as Veracruz All Natural and Cabana Club. Spanish and Portuguese language classes are also offered. No partner is required for classes.
Founded in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Esquina Tango converted an old church building in East Austin into a tango studio, with a vibrant exterior inspired by Buenos Aires' La Boca neighborhood. Initially an Argentine Tango studio, it expanded into a cultural center offering a wide range of Latin dance and language classes. The 20-year anniversary fundraiser is scheduled for October 17 of the upcoming year.

"I love the energy at Esquina Tango. I've gone to the Thursday tango class/social, one Samba class so far, and I'm excited to check out Kizomba Sundays soon. The instructors are fun and passionate about dance, and the venue is welcoming and vibrant. If you're looking for a fun spa"
