About the studio
Bachata Geneva Dance Studio is the leading bachata school in Geneva, Switzerland, operating across five convenient venues spread between Cornavin, Vernier, Geneva Ville, Jonction, and Plainpalais. Founded in 2021 as a non-profit association after a group of dedicated dancers kept the rhythm alive in Geneva's parks during COVID-19 lockdowns, the school now teaches more than 500 students with a team of 16 expert instructors. Classes run Monday through Thursday evenings between 18:30 and 22:00 and follow a structured 7-level curriculum from Beginner 1 to Advanced, plus open-level sessions, covering bachata sensual, bachata moderna, bachata dominicana fundamentals, bachazouk, latino heels and ladies styling. The studio offers a free first trial class with no credit card required and a flexible 28-day billing cycle with monthly (CHF 100), flexible (CHF 85) and annual (CHF 66) plans, plus stackable discounts of up to 77% combining multi-course bundles, student/senior verification, and referrals. Beyond classes, members enjoy the monthly La Mensuelle social night with guest-artist workshops, free practice sessions, school practicas with potluck, and Saturday intensives with international master teachers. The school also hosts the annual Bachata Geneva Festival - Festival of Nations, a three-day event drawing 500+ attendees and 15+ international instructors from 20+ countries. Instruction is multilingual (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Bulgarian, Mandarin, Finnish, Wolof), and the welcoming, non-profit, community-first ethos permeates every aspect of studio life.
Founded in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic when a small group of bachata lovers began holding outdoor sessions in Geneva's parks to keep the local dance community connected. Weekly park gatherings grew to 100+ regular dancers and the founders eventually formalized Bachata Geneva as a registered Swiss non-profit association so that all proceeds could be reinvested into classes, venues, events, and community programs. The community has since expanded to five indoor venues, 16 professional instructors, 400+ students taught and 50+ events organized per year, and now produces the annual Bachata Geneva Festival - Festival of Nations.
