Salsa by Ricardo
About the studio
Salsa by Ricardo (Ricasalsa) is a San Francisco-based salsa and bachata school led by instructor Ricardo Tellez. Group classes run on Wednesday nights at Danzhaus Dance Center in Potrero Hill, structured as a 4-week progressive beginner salsa series followed by a Beginners Level 2 class and an open coaching practica. On Fridays Ricardo teaches bachata and salsa classes at Space 550 (Dance Fridays), one of the city's largest Latin social-dance nights, where a DJ plays after the lessons. The school emphasizes a structured, progressive curriculum that builds technique week over week so students can transition confidently to social dancing. No partner is required for group classes, making it welcoming for solo dancers and complete beginners. Private lessons are also offered across San Francisco and the Bay Area Peninsula at $130/hour for singles and $160/hour per couple, including studio fees. Payments are handled via Venmo (@ricasalsa) and bookings via phone/text at 510-612-0985.

"Ricardo is a talented dancer and great guy. I have enjoyed learning salsa from him very much. Great instructor - either in a big group at the club on Fridays - in smaller group on wed nights - or for private lessons. Recommended!"
