Cumbancha

Cumbancha is one of Berlin's longest-running Latin dance schools, founded in 2000 by Hardy Stellke in the heart of Kreuzberg. The school teaches Salsa Cubana, Salsa LA (ON1), Salsa NY (ON2), Rueda de Casino, Bachata Moderna, Bachata Sensual, Kizomba, Lady Styling and Afro-Cuban Bodymovement, with around 35 weekly Open Classes and roughly 140 classes per month spanning beginner to advanced levels. Beyond regular classes, Hardy is well known for his trademarked Bootcamps, three to four hour intensive weekend workshops designed to fast-track student progress, plus multi-month Intensiv-Kurse for committed dancers. A strict online sign-up system keeps the leader-follower ratio close to 95% balanced, so dancers can confidently register without a partner. The atmosphere is famously inclusive and family-like ('La Familia') with over 10,000 students taught and a 4.8/5 rating from 575 reviews, and the school regularly hosts in-house socials and parties at Berlin Nordbahnhof. Pricing is flexible, ranging from a 7 EUR trial class and 13 EUR drop-in to 5/10/20-class passes and monthly contracts from 69 to 99 EUR. Cumbancha also organises an annual Salsa dance trip to Spain, wedding dance courses, and rents out its studios.
