La Danza Tanzzentrum
About the studio
La Danza Tanzzentrum is a large multi-style dance school in central Cologne, Germany, with its main reception and three studios at Weyerstraße 35-37 plus three additional halls on Engelbertstraße, Moltkestraße and Aachener Straße. The school covers the full Latin couple-dance spectrum (Salsa Cubana, Casino, Salsa Colombiana/Caleña, Bachata Sensual, Bachata Dominicana, Kizomba, Urban Kiz, Brazilian Zouk and Tango Argentino) alongside a wide range of solo and choreography classes including Reggaeton, Commercial, Heels, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Twerk, Afro Fusion and Contemporary. Levels run from absolute beginners (A1) up to advanced (F) and Masterclass, with guaranteed cross-entry possible at any time after a trial class. Students can choose between a one-off 12-class beginner ticket, a monthly one-class subscription, an All Class Flatrate or a 10-class pass, with reduced rates for students. Classes run weekday evenings from roughly 16:30 to 22:00 plus a Sunday afternoon-evening block, and the school regularly hosts the in-house Ritmo X parties as well as weekend workshops with guest teachers. Registration and class booking are handled through the integrated Nimbuscloud booking system. La Danza explicitly welcomes solo dancers and rotates partners during couple classes, making it accessible without a fixed dance partner.
La Danza Tanzzentrum is run by Uwe Siebenbaum (named on the imprint as the responsible operator). Over time the school has grown to four studio locations across Cologne (Weyerstraße halls A/B/C, Engelbertstraße hall E, Moltkestraße hall M and the Hinterhofsalon hall H on Aachener Straße) and an extensive resident-and-guest faculty drawn from across Latin America, Europe and beyond. The team teaches the original styles as developed in their respective countries of origin and emphasises continuous instructor education. According to the school's website Salsa first arrived in German clubs around 1980, and La Danza positions itself within that lineage by offering authentic Cuban, Colombian, Dominican and Brazilian traditions side by side.
