Dancer University runs its Monday salsa and bachata social in this downtown cocktail bar on 4th St. A beginner salsa class starts at 8pm and beginner bachata at 8.45pm, both taught by Jasmine Flores, then the social runs 9.30pm to 1am on a 50/50 salsa and bachata split. Fifteen dollars covers the classes and the social together.
Other nights the room turns to other music. Thursday is live jazz from around 8pm, with the bar closing at 11pm; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday run late to 2am; Tuesday and Sunday the bar stays closed. One reviewer came for a Saturday R&B night and remembered the red lighting.
The room itself is a basement cocktail bar with leather couches and mixologist drinks. One reviewer called the interior stylish with plenty of seating, and the drinks a little pricey.
