Brazilian zouk and lambada are the only two styles on the timetable here, taught by a Paddington school that has been running zouk in Brisbane for nine years.
The Sunday party and the Tuesday starter courses use the Moreton St address; Wednesday focus classes move to East Brisbane State School on Wellington Rd, and Saturday parties to Spring Hill. Weeknight classes go 6pm to 9.30pm, Tuesday for starters and foundations, Wednesday across two focus levels, Thursday for the upper levels. Every weekend party opens with an intro beginner workshop and an open level workshop before the social gets going.
The year builds around the school's own events: International Zouk Day in September, the Mid Year Ball for zouk and lambada, and the Brisbane Zouk Festival in November, which pulls communities from across Australia and New Zealand. Between dance nights the same crew organises hikes and camping trips.
